Bengals fresh out of Palmers

Carson Palmer no longer wanted to play for the Cincinnati Bengals and asked for a trade.

When the team refused to oblige him, he retired.

On Saturday, the Bengals cleared the decks of both Palmer brothers, waiving Carson's younger brother Jordan Palmer, who was entering his fourth NFL season.

The Bengals also released cornerback Fred Bennett, safety Tom Nelson, cornerback LeRoy Vann and rookie linebacker Stephen Franklin and receiver Jamere Holland of Lindenwood.

Jordan Palmer, who was a sixth-round pick in 2007 of the Washington Redskins, came to the Bengals in 2008.
