Bengals' Lewis: Palmer quit last year

Carson Palmer retired rather than play for the Cincinnati Bengals, and eventually got what he wanted by being traded to the Oakland Raiders just over a week ago.

But, according to a Yahoo! Sports report, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis insinuated that Palmer actually quit on the team last year.

“At what point did Carson quit?” Lewis said. “At some point last year he decided he didn’t want to be here. This didn’t happen at the end of the season. There was a point earlier on when he said, ‘This isn’t the place for me.’”

According to the story, things are looking up so much for the Bengals these days - with no Chad Ochocinco and no Terrell Owens as well - that one team official said, "We got rid of all our (expletive)."
