Bengals rookie Giovani Bernard scores twice

The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 20-10, as rookie running back Giovani Bernard scored both of their touchdowns.

Bernard rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown, also catching a 27-yard touchdown pass.

Wide receiver A.J. Green caught six passes for 41 yards.

The Bengals finished with 407 yards of total offense.

“It was a good football game for us to win," Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said. "It was hardfought, very physical each quarter, and very close all the way through. So 46 guys got taxed to the moment."

Bernard's big-play capabilities are paying dividends, complementing BenJarvus Green-Ellis' 75 rushing yards on 22 carries.

“We drafted him to be a guy that’s versatile; a guy that we can move around and catch the ball out of the backfield and make big plays," Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton said. "That’s exactly what we’ve got out of him. It’s exciting to see him come out and play big in a game like this. He did a really good job.”
