Bengals sign Mike Nugent to two-year, $3.5 million deal

The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed kicker Mike Nugent to a two-year, $3.5 million contract that includes $600,000 guaranteed. Nugent holds the Bengals' records for most field goals (33) and points scored (132) in a season in 2011. He's tied for the longest franchise field goal record (55 yards) and holds the mark for longest playoff field goal in franchise history with a 57-yarder against the Indianapolis Colts last season. “I’m excited to have Mike back with us,” said special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons. “Mike dealt with some tough issues last season (including the death of his father), but he finished the year strong, and we’re looking for him to pick up where he left off."
