Benson doesn't believe he will remain with Bengals

Running back Cedric Benson believes his days as a Cincinnati Bengal could be over.

The unrestricted free agent told's Alex Marvez on Sirius XM Radio that no new talks have yet taken place between his agent and the team, and that he could be elsewhere in 2012.

The Bengals took Benson off the scrap heap after he had worn out his welcome with off-the-field problems in Chicago, and the running back rewarded Cincinnati by leading the team in rushing for four consecutive seasons.

Still, Benson was not completely over his run-ins with the law and was suspended for a game in 2011 after his second arrest in two years on misdemeanor assault charges. It could work against him in free agency.

“I’m not perfect. I don’t go out seeking any trouble or try to put myself in a confrontational situation," Benson said. "I try my best to avoid them by all means. But life sometimes throws you curveballs. The best thing is to learn in the future and avoid them happening again.”
