Big crowd shows up for pro day at Wisconsin
A good crowd showed up this afternoon for the pro day at Wisconsin.
The Chicago Bears sent three coaches to the workout, no doubt to get a close look at offensive tackle Gabe Carimi and guard John Moffitt. The Green Bay Packers were also well represented with general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Also attending are Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and San Diego Chargers general manager A.J. Smith.
The Bears sent offensive coordinator Mike Martz, line coach Mike Tice and tight ends coach Mike DeBord. Badgers tight end Lance Kendricks is working out but DeBord could be assisting in the evaluation of the linemen as he has a long history of working with that position as well.
Many mock drafts have the Bears targeting Carimi with the 29th pick in the first round, including the latest one posted by the National Football Post’s Wes Bunting.
