Shane Andrus will become the third kicker to get his kicks for the San Francisco 49ers in as many weeks when they close out the regular season on Sunday at St. Louis.

The Niners signed Andrus after placing Ricky Schmitt on injured reserve with a groin muscle injury. The club’s usual kicker, Joe Nedney, has been out with a hamstring pull.

Andrus appeared in three games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season as they went through a series of kickers. He spent the preseason in Indianapolis.
