Biggs: 49ers extend tenders to Baas, Brooks
The San Francisco 49ers tendered qualifying offers to restricted free agents David Baas and Ahmad Brooks, the club announced this evening.
Baas was given an original round tender. Originally a second-round draft pick, he’s made 38 career starts, mostly at left guard.
Brooks made six sacks for the 49ers last season as an outside linebacker. He was given an upgraded second-round tender. That means he will earn $1.759 million this season. The club has been trying to sign him to a multi-year extension but you can see where those talks have gotten the sides to this point—right here.
The deadline for teams to extend qualifying offers to RFA’s is Thursday.
