Biggs: 49ers sign TE Curtis, CB Smith to futures deals

The San Francisco 49ers signed tight end Tony Curtis and cornerback Keith Smith to futures contracts.

Curtis played three seasons for the Dallas Cowboys and bounced around last season, playing in three games with the Baltimore Ravens.

Smith comes back to the 49ers after spending eight weeks with the team during the past season. He was active for three games, playing primarily on special teams. He was a third-round draft pick by the Detroit Lions in 2004 but never became a regular starter for them.
