Biggs: Bears hire Tice as line coach

The Chicago Bears have hinted that they could bring in as many as 10 candidates as they search for the right offensive coordinator.

This afternoon, they found a line coach to work with the yet-to-be-found coordinator as Mike Tice was hired. Tice leaves the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he was still under contract.

Tice served as the assistant head coach in Jacksonville and also worked with tight ends. He previously was the head coach in Minnesota where he posted a winning record in three of four seasons.

It’s a good hire for the Bears as Tice excelled as a line coach previously in Minnesota and he traces his roots back to Chuck Knox in Seattle. The Bears want to re-start their running game and will lean on Tice to improve the play of the line.
