Biggs: Broncos make addition of Law official

The Denver Broncos made the addition of veteran cornerback Ty Law official this morning, as he was signed to the roster, taking the place of cornerback Jack Williams, who was released.

The five-time Pro Bowl selection is expected to assist in Denver’s sub packages. Williams had split time with rookie Alphonso Smith in the nickel and dime defenses, according to Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post. Williams was a fourth-round draft pick by Denver last season.

Legwold points out that opponents have attacked the Broncos’ sub packages in recent weeks, and Law arrives in time for Monday’s meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco completed 12-of-15 passes vs. Denver’s nickel defense, Legwold reports.

Law will now be in the same secondary as Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins giving the Broncos a wealth of experience for coordinator Mike Nolan.
