Biggs: Cole, O'Hara each fined 15 large

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Trent Cole and New York Giants lineman Shaun O’Hara were fined $15,000 each for their role in a brawl Sunday night in the shootout between the NFC East rivals at the Meadowlands.

Cole said he was protecting teammate Jason Babin when things flew out of control.

"I embarrassed myself and my team," Cole said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "It was just a situation I didn't want to be in ... but it happened and you have to deal with it, take the consequences and move forward to the next week.”

O’Hara started the brouhaha when he shoved Cole in the facemask. Cole threw a few punches, and then O’Hara ripped his helmet off. Cole was ejected from the game. Both were fined the same amount, probably the right move by the league.
