Biggs: Concussion symptoms keep Bennett out
The Dallas Cowboys will be without tight end Martellus Bennett on Sunday when they host the San Diego Chargers.
Bennett is suffering from post-concussion syndromes, and has not practiced this week, according to the Dallas Morning News. Bennett passed the base line neurological exams but had headaches throughout the week, according to Todd Archer, and must be symptom-free in order to return.
That will leave rookie John Phillips as the only tight end behind Pro Bowl performer Jason Witten. That might lead to more work for fullback Deon Anderson, as the Cowboys make heavy use of double tight end formations. Dallas could opt to go with more three receiver sets too, but the Cowboys seem to get in trouble when quarterback Tony Romo throws the ball 40-plus times a game.
