Biggs: Cowboys could get their kicks with Suisham
Nick Folk figured to be in trouble when he knocked a 24-yard field goal try off the right upright to make the closing minutes of the Dallas Cowboys’ victory over the New Orleans Saints interesting on Sunday night.
Trouble for Folk is arriving today in the form of former Cowboys kicker Shaun Suisham, who is coming in for a workout, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Suisham lost his own job earlier this month when he missed a 23-yarder that would have lifted the Washington Redskins to an upset of the then unbeaten New Orleans Saints. Suisham was 18-for-21 this season for the Redskins, and was the best kicker the franchise has had since Chip Lohmiller more than a decade ago.
Folk has missed a league-high 10 field goals this season, and had to fend off competition last week from kickoff specialist David Buehler. Folk is 18-for-28 on the season and seven of his misses have come from 40 to 49 yards.
According to the report, the team has also had contact with Dave Rayner.
