Biggs: Cowboys have not ruled Ware out yet
The Dallas Cowboys have not ruled out linebacker DeMarcus Ware for Saturday’s game at New Orleans, which amounts to a must-win for them as they try to remain in the race.
Less than 24 hours after Ware was hospitalized with a neck injury, he reported to the team’s facility on Monday and was only reporting soreness.
"If he's cleared to play," coach Wade Phillips told media, "then he'll play."
Ware has never missed a game in his career. He signed a $78 million, six-year extension two months ago.
"We're not going to play an injured player," Phillips said. "Now, can a player play with pain? Sometimes you have to do that, but anything that would risk injury on a player, we certainly wouldn't play them."
