Biggs: Falcons re-sign Zelenka, finalize trade

The Atlanta Falcons have re-signed long snapper Joe Zelenka to a deal.

He first joined the team in early December and closed out the season as the snapper for the Falcons in the final five games.

The 11-year veteran spent the majority of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2001 to 2008.

That wasn’t the only business of the day for the team. Atlanta also finalized the trade of cornerback Chris Houston, first reported on Sunday. Houston, who became expendable after the signing of Dunta Robinson, was shipped to the Detroit Lions. The Falcons received the Lions’ sixth-round draft pick and the clubs swapped picks in the fifth round, moving Atlanta closer to the top of the round.
