Biggs: Finneran back for another go with Falcons
Brian Finneran will return to the Atlanta Falcons for another season.
The veteran wide receiver, who was slated to become an unrestricted free agent on March 5, has agreed to a one-year contract with the team, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Finneran made only 11 catches for 111 yards this last season before suffering a torn PCL that put him on the shelf. Finneran has dealt with knee injuries in the past. A torn ACL in his left knee at the start of training camp in 2006 cost him the entire year. He tore the replacement ACL the following year and missed 2007 as well. It’s been since 2005, when he made 50 receptions, that he had solid statistics. Finneran has a total of 32 catches for 280 yards and one touchdown over the last two seasons.
But the veteran, who has been a part of the organization since 2000, will get an opportunity to keep going at age 34.
