Biggs: Lions add RB Dorsey
The Detroit Lions signed running back DeDe Dorsey to a two-year contract on Tuesday, getting themselves another option while Kevin Smith rehabilitates from surgery to repair a torn ACL.
"I just felt like Detroit has some pieces in place to be very successful and I wanted to be a part of that," Dorsey told The Detroit News. "I'm just excited to get up there and contribute any way I can, whether that's running the football, catching it out of the backfield or contributing on special teams."
Dorsey broke into the league in Indianapolis in 2006 and spent most of the last three seasons in Cincinnati. According to the report, he also had offers from St. Louis and Minnesota. The Vikings’ offer is interesting because it could signal the team is preparing for the departure of Chester Taylor in free agency.
Dorsey spent some time in the UFL last season and was the MVP of the title game for the Las Vegas Locomotives.
