Biggs: McKinnie says he has plantar fasciitis
If Bryant McKinnie would have waited until now to start Tweeting about his social calendar, and Tweeted about his troubled feet during Pro Bowl week, he never would have landed in a pickle with the NFL in the first place.
McKinnie became the first player we can recall to be bounced from a Pro Bowl team for skipping practices and meetings back in January. While missing out on the work, if you can call it that, leading up to the game, he did keep everyone involved on what was going on in his social life, including a late night stop one evening at KOD’s, which would be better known as King of Diamonds, a South Florida strip joint.
The league finally bounced McKinnie from the game and ruled he wouldn’t receive a share for playing in the game and that he, in fact, had to reimburse the league a little less than $5,000 for the expenses of his that has been picked up by the NFL.
Now, McKinnie announces that he is battling plantar fasciitis. In both feet. Via the same Twitter account, according to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. He’s had his feet taped and has been doing calf exercises and taking medicine. He is scheduled to see a doctor again next week.
See, if McKinnie would have come forward with this in the first place, he could have avoided all of that unfortunate attention. Vikings coach Brad Childress shared little injury details about his players at the scouting combine.
