Biggs: Musgrave gets promotion in Atlanta

Bill Musgrave did his best George Jefferson impersonation this morning.

The Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach, credited for his work with Matt Ryan over the last two seasons, is movin’ on up. Musgrave was promoted to assistant head coach today by Falcons coach Mike Smith. He will still carry the title of quarterbacks coach as well. Presumably, Musgrave gets a little kick in cash too.

“Bill has been an integral part of this coaching staff and this is a well deserved promotion,” Smith said in a release by the team. “We will look to utilize his tremendous amount of coaching experience for years to come.”

Prior to joining the Falcons, Musgrave was the quarterbacks coach in Washington. He served as the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville, Carolina and Philadelphia.
