Biggs: MVP candidate Brees already royalty

Drew Brees, quarterback of the undefeated New Orleans Saints, is just an MVP candidate at this point. But he is already a member of royalty.

Brees announced via his Twitter account this morning that he has a big role ahead of him, just a week after the Super Bowl.

"I have just accepted an invitation to be the King of Bacchus for Mardi Gras, Feb. 14, 2010. Hope to see everyone at the parade!"

Just imagine what the festivities will be like if Brees can lead the Saints to the Super Bowl for the first time in their history. He’s got some experience in the parade. He served as grand marshal three years ago when James Gandolfini was Bacchus.

At 12-0, the Saints are one of just two unbeaten teams remaining in the league, and he’s the most popular man in town.
