Biggs: Palmer will have thumb surgery
CINCINNATI—Carson Palmer’s season has ended and now the Bengals quarterback will undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb.
Palmer said the surgery will take place next week. He wore a protective brace on his left hand since suffering the injury in October, and it forced him into the awkward position of having to hand off with his right hand all season.
Palmer was outdueled by another former USC quarterback, Mark Sanchez, in the 24-14 loss to the New York Jets.
