Biggs: Peterson's rough week topped by fine

As if Adrian Peterson needed anyone else chasing after him.

The Minnesota Vikings running back has drawn increased criticism for his loose ways with the football after fumbling twice last Sunday against the Chicago Bears, giving him six fumbles on the season, five of them lost. Word then broke that Peterson was nabbed in suburban Minneapolis the night before the game for abuse of the accelerator, clocked going 109 mph in a 55 mph zone, not your ordinary double-the-limit offense.

Now, Peterson has the NFL coming after him and his wallet. The running back has been fined $5,000 for his facemask penalty in the Vikings’ 36-10 demolition of the Bears. Peterson grabbed ahold of the mask of middle linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer, and the league delivered notice that his check is going to be a little light.

Rough week.
