Biggs: Redskins add K Medlock to the mix
The Washington Redskins have added a kicker to the mix, signing Justin Medlock to a contract on Friday.
He’ll be in competition with Graham Gano, the rookie the club turned to late last season after Shaun Suisham was given the boot when he cost the team a victory over the undefeated New Orleans Saints.
Medlock opened the 2007 season as the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs but that was a short stay as he was cut after one game. He was with the St. Louis Rams in training camp in 2008 and kicked for the Toronto Argonauts last season.
Kicker will be looking for the best opportunity to win jobs and going against an unproven incumbent like Gano will be appealing. Cincinnati is also in the market for a new kicker.
