Biggs: Redskins make some hires official

The Washington Redskins took care of some official business today, announcing a couple hirings, one of which we knew about since the day Mike Shanahan was hired.

The club announced that Kyle Shanahan will serve as the offensive coordinator—no news there—and that Matt LaFleur would be the quarterbacks coach and Jon Embree has been hired to keep Chris Cooley’s, ahem, playbook off the World Wide Web and coach tight ends.

LaFleur worked under Kyle Shanahan with the Houston Texans. Embree was out of the league this past season. He was the tight ends coach for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2006 to 2008.
