Biggs: Saints make tender offer to G Evans
Conspicuously missing from the long list of players the New Orleans Saints extended qualifying tenders to as restricted free agents over the weekend was guard Jahri Evans.
He’s missing from the list no longer.
The Saints made an offer to Evans and running back Mike Bell today, according to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, bringing to 15 the number of RFAs the club has tendered.
Evans was offered a one-year deal for $3.168 million, a 10 percent raise over his salary from last season, meaning the Saints would receive a first- and third-round draft pick from any club that signed him away with an offer sheet. Ultimately, the club hopes to sign Evans to a longterm contract.
Bell was tendered at the lowest level for $1.176 million.
