Biggs: Seattle shakes up line, Unger to center

The Seattle Seahawks drafted Max Unger in the second round out of Oregon with an eye toward him being their center of the future.

That future is now as he will be installed there for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay.Unger takes over for Chris Spencer, who has had an injury-plagued season and right now is dealing with a hand issue, which affects snapping the ball. The Seahawks were blown out this past week at Houston.

Unger started the first 13 games of the season at right guard as the team wanted to slowly get him acclimated to the NFL. Plus, injuries that swept the line prevented the team from having much flexibility. Spencer and Mike Gibson will split time at right guard, according to coach Jim Mora.
