Biggs: Toxicology reports clean for Gaines Adams
Toxicology reports from the autopsy of Gaines Adams came back Wednesday and they showed no additional contributing factors in his death last month that was caused by an enlarged heart.
The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division revealed that nothing else was in play when he died of cardiac arrest in his hometown of Greenwood, S.C. The 26-year-old was a defensive end for the Chicago Bears and was the fourth pick of the 2007 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Two autopsies were performed on Adams, the second after a request was made by his family. Based on an examination of his organs, there was no evidence of substance abuse, according to the Chicago Tribune.
