Bill Cowher not expected to coach this season

Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher isn't retired from coaching, but he isn't expected to return to coach this season and perhaps even longer.

Cowher isn't expected to coach this season, according to ESPN.

Cowher will remain in his television role with CBS.

Cowher, 56, is a highly-regarded candidate for any vacancy after winning a Super Bowl and eight division titles with the Steelers.

However, he hasn't coached since resigning in 2007.

The longer he's out, the more likely it is that Cowher won't return.
