The Buffalo Bills could have a new owner in place once the month of July rolls around, the Associated Press reported on Saturday.

Former owner and founder Ralph Wilson died at the age of 95 in March, which has led to the franchise seeking to sell. The hope in the state of New York is for the Bills to remain in Buffalo, though there is a concern they could leave town if the highest bidder wants to change locations.

The AP report states that a sale could be made in 90 days and that the sale could be approved in October at league meetings. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has hired a firm to help keep the Bills in the state.

Wilson founded the Bills, which entered the AFL in 1960. While business is business, it would be a shame if one of the historical franchises in the league relocates. There's plenty at stake in the process, which appears to have those in the state doing what they can to keep the Bills in Buffalo.
