Bob Stoops on Browns' job: 'You never know'

Oklahoma Sooners coach Bob Stoops, following a huge win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, didn't dispel speculation that he's a leading candidate for the Cleveland Browns' vacancy.

"You never know," Stoops told Oklahoma reporters, noting "There's a lot of that" speculation.

When asked if it's just speculation, Stoops said: "Sure."

Stoops is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and would certainly make a popular hire.

He's 160-39 at Oklahoma and signed a seven-year, $34.5 million contract in 2011.

"That's something you never know will come your way," Stoops said on The Dan Patrick Show. "In life, things change from year to year and time to time, and right now I love what I'm doing and the people I work with at Oklahoma. So right now, it's not something I'm looking to pursue, but you never know down the road."
