Boller among Ravens' backup QB candidates

The Baltimore Ravens are looking at a familiar face among the candidates they are considering as a backup quarterback.

Kyle Boller, a first-round pick of the Ravens in 2003 who never quite panned out, will work out for Baltimore on Thursday, according to NFL.com. Boller has spent the past two seasons with the Oakland Raiders.

The Ravens also will bring in Pittsburgh Steelers free agent Dennis Dixon as well, according to the report. Previously, Baltimore auditioned former Colts quarterback Curtis Painter.

The Ravens have Joe Flacco and young QB Tyrod Taylor who may do some things in the Wildcat formation this season, but are in the market for a traditional-style backup as well.
