Brady on Pats' first half: We just sucked
Tom Brady didn't sound satisfied with the New England Patriots' 7-3 mark thus far this season, and he certainly didn't sound happy with the way his team played in the first half of Monday night's 34-3 rout of Kansas City.
The Patriots struggled to just 10 first-half points and led the Chiefs 10-3 at halftime before pouring it on 24 second-half points to turn the game into a laugher.
“We just sucked in the first half,” Brady said via the Boston Herald. “If you can’t complete a pass, you’re not going to move the ball. Can’t run it, can’t complete a pass – we just didn’t do anything.”
As for where they stand on the season, Brady said, “We’re 7-3. I don’t think we’re really where we hoped to be at this point. We have a whole season ahead of us and hopefully we can come out and have a good week of practice and move forward."
At 7-3, the Patriots are tied with AFC North rivals Baltimore and Pittsburgh and AFC South leader Houston for the best record in a conference where no team has yet risen to the status of Super Bowl favorite.
