Brandon Banks finally released from hospital

After six days in the hospital recovering from a knife wound his agent said nicked his left lung, Washington Redskins return man Brandon Banks has been discharged.

James Gould said Banks is doing well after recovering from a collapsed lung, according to the Washington Post. Of course, Gould said last weekend that his client would be released from the hospital then after suffering only a superficial wound. We’ll hope his assessment of the situation now is candid, accurate and more importantly that Banks is well on the road to recovery.

"The tube was removed from his chest, and his lung is fully inflated," Gould said in a statement released by the Redskins. "Brandon should be fully recovered and able to resume offseason training in three to four weeks."

It’s a little curious the team didn’t issue its own statement about the health of Banks. He and his friend were injured in a fight outside a D.C. nightclub.
