Brandon Spikes accepts plea deal
Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes has pleaded guilty in the traffic case that cost him his job with the Patriots.
Spikes plead guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and was fined, also losing his driver's license, receiving a year of probation and attending a driver's safety class.
Spikes was cut after he was charged with hitting another car and causing the victims minor injuries. He also abandoned his vehicle near Gillette Stadium, but told a lie that he hit a deer and not the car he actually hit.
Spikes remains a free agent.
