Breaking down Andrew Hawkins' $13.1 million Browns offer sheet

Cincinnati Bengals restricted free agent wide receiver Andrew Hawkins was signed by the Cleveland Browns to a strong offer sheet that the Bengals probably wouldn't be inclined to match.

It's worth up to $13.1 million and includes a $3 million signing bonus, according to league sources.

The deal includes a 2014 base salary of $1.8 million guaranteed for skill and injury.

In 2015, Hawkins' $2.3 million base salary has $500,000 of it guaranteed for injury only.

He has nonguaranteed base salaries of $2.5 million in 2016 and $2.6 million in 2016.

The contract includes $900,000 worth of escalator clauses throughout the course of the deal.

Now, the Bengals have seven days to match the offer.

Hawkins got the low tender, so there is no draft pick compensation.

In three seasons with the Bengals, Hawkins has caught 86 passes for 995 yards and four touchdowns.

Hawkins is an extremely athletic, elusive slot receiver who also has kick returner skills.

Given an expanded role, he could be a nice addition to the Browns' offense.

Given the way the Bengals have compensated him, it's clear that they envision a lot of touches in Hawkins' future.
