Breaking down J.J. Watt's $108.881 million deal

Houston Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt's blockbuster contract is worth $108.881 million and includes a $10 million signing bonus with $51.876 million guaranteed, according to a league source.

The six-year extension has a $907,385 fully guaranteed base salary this year with a $4.58 million salary-cap figure and a $5,425 workout bonus.

In 2015, Watt has a $9.969 million fully guaranteed salary and a $21.969 million salary-cap figure.

He's due a $10 million roster bonus on the 15th day of the 2015 league year that's guaranteed at the time of signing if he's on the roster on Sept. 9 of this year.</p>

In 2016, he has a $10.5 million base salary guaranteed for injury only at the time of signing and fully guaranteed if he's on the roster on the fifth day of the league year that year. Watt has a $12.5 million salary-cap figure that year, a $500,000 base and guarantee de-escalator if he fails to complete workouts required.

In 2017, Watt has a $10.5 million base salary guaranteed for injury only at the time of signing and fully guaranteed if he's on the roster on the fifth day of the 2016 league year. Again, he has a $500,000 base and guarantee de-escalator if he fails to complete workouts. He has a $12.5 million salary-cap figure.

In 2018, Watt has a $11 million base salary that's not guaranteed, the same de-escalator for $500,000 and a $13 million salary-cap figure.

In 2019, Watt has a $13 million base salary and a $13 million salary cap figure and the same de-escalator.

In 2020, he has a $15.5 million base salary and salary-cap figure and de-escalator.

In 2021, he has a $17.5 million base salary and salary-cap figure and de-escalator.
