Breaking down Saints safety Rafael Bush's $3.8 million deal

The New Orleans Saints didn't have to spend big money to hold onto safety Rafael Bush when they matched the Atlanta Falcons' offer sheet for the restricted free agent.

Bush got a $3.8 million two-year deal that includes $850,000 guaranteed, according to a league source.

The $850,000 is fully guaranteed as part of his $1.9 million base salary for 2014 with a $1.85 million salary-cap figure. Also, $350,000 of the base salary is deferred until March 31, 2015.

In 2015, Bush has a $1.95 million nonguaranteed base salary and has up to $750,000 in an escalator clause for Pro Bowl and interceptions.
