Brian Baker will coach Cowboys defensive line

The Dallas Cowboys have hired Brian Baker as their defensive line coach.

Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer reports that Baker, who was with the Carolina Panthers for the past two seasons, will leave a job at the University of North Carolina after only a month. Baker was offered the job last week and asked for time to fulfill his commitments through national signing day.

He will help new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan install his 3-4 defense. Baker has made previous NFL stops in Detroit, Minnesota and San Diego.
