Brian Cushing breaks leg, tears knee ligament

Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing can't catch a break.

Cushing broke his fibula and tore his lateral collateral ligament during a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs after being sidelined last season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Surgery will be performed and Cushing will be placed on injured reserve after getting hurt on a low block by Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles.

“It’s not how many times you fall down but how many times you get back up,” Cushing wrote on Twitter. “Life is tough but I’m the toughest SOB it’s ever seen. Ill be back.”
