Brian Urlacher back at Bears facility
Two days after leaving town following the death of his mother, Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has returned to the team’s facility.
Urlacher is at Halas Hall this morning, according to the Chicago Tribune’s David Haugh, who cited two sources. Urlacher’s schedule for the remainder of the week remains unclear, but a source said Wednesday night the seven-time Pro Bowl performer is expected to play Sunday at New Orleans.
Lavoyda Lenard, 51, died unexpectedly on Monday in Texas. Urlacher had a very close relationship with his mother, who worked three jobs in Lovington, N.M., when she was raising three children as a single mother.
Urlacher was named the NFC defensive player of the week for his performance in the team’s 30-12 victory over the Atlanta Falcons last week. He had an interception and returned a fumble for a touchdown. It was the sixth time in his career he has won the award.
