Britt vows to return by '12 opener
Kenny Britt said he will be back from a torn ACL in plenty of time to play in the 2012 season opener.
Britt tore both the ACL and MCL in his right knee on Sept. 25 against the Denver Broncos and underwent surgery about a week later. Britt is now in the intial stages of his rehab work in trying to make it back, but sees no problem in being back by the time next season is ready to start.
“I'll definitely be back way before then. But my goal now is just to get through it and keep my focus on what I need to do and make sure and maintain that I'm all right,” Britt told TitanInsider.com on Friday.
Britt was not wearing a protective brace on the knee on Friday and was walking with only a small limp. However, he knows there are many hurdles to clear in order to return.
“It's just a whole bunch of months of just training. Just Monday I just started riding the bike. It took a while for me to get over the hump,” Britt said. “There were just more half cycles. As we went along, I had the seat real high, it was probably on level 12 and I got it down to probably level seven, which is real hard to do in a day or two. I'm sure I'll have good days and bad days. It gets stiff on me in the morning, but I just go and rehab and workout and loosen it up, and now I'm walking around without my brace.”
