Broadway Jaw: Namath lights into Jets again
Joe Namath has plenty to say about the New York Jets once again after their latest loss Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
According to the New York Post, Namath took issue with wide receiver Santonio Holmes publicly blaming the Jets' offensive line and quarterback Mark Sanchez in New York's 34-17 loss to Baltimore, saying he should not have taken the matter to the media.
Namath also got in a dig at Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum for some of his draft picks that have not worked out as planned, including the recently released Vernon Gholston and guard Vlad Ducasse, who was part of the Jets' porous offensive line that was being overpowered by the Ravens defense and causing some of Sanchez's many problems Sunday night.
Apparently, though, Namath's comments are not registering too much inside the locker room, despite his stature as the franchise's most popular player of all-time.
"We don't care one bit what Joe Namath has to say," offensive lineman Matt Slauson said. "He means nothing to us."
