Broncos cutting Champ Bailey

Veteran cornerback Champ Bailey's tenure with the Denver Broncos is coming to an end.

The team informed Bailey that he will be cut. He was due a $1 million roster bonus on March 15.

The 35-year-old was due a $9 million base salary for next season.

"I'm good," Bailey told USA Today. "It's bittersweet. Now I get to go see what is out there. I'm looking at the positive side of it. ..

"It sucks, but at the same time, I have to move on. I can't dwell on it. I know they're not dwelling on it."

A 12-time Pro Bowl selection, Bailey has 52 career interceptions.

However, he had just three starts last season due to a foot injury.

Now, the Broncos and Bailey are moving on.

Bailey intends to keep playing and would consider playing safety to extend his career.

"I just want to see what people will want me to do," Bailey said. "My vision is to still play corner, but I'm a little more open-minded about the season I had last year. I'm a corner at heart. If a situation made sense to play safety, then I would consider it."
