Broncos' Decker finished for season
Lost amid the good news for the Denver Broncos in their stunning 29-23 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday is the fact that receiver Eric Decker's season appears over.
Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that Decker's season is over after he took a hit to his knee from James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Decker was trying to make a diving catch of a Tim Tebow pass that was originally ruled a completion, but was overturned by a replay challenge as Decker lost the football when Harrison hit him on the knee on his way to the ground.
In Decker's absence, Tebow turned to Demaryius Thomas as his go-to guy, and Thomas responded with 204 yards receiving, including the game-winning 80-yard TD catch on the first play of overtime to send the Broncos to New England for the divisional playoffs and also rekindling the Tebowmania that had waned somewhat in a three-game losing streak to end the regular season.
