Broncos defensive end Antonio Smith under investigation for alleged child abuse

Denver Broncos defensive end Antonio Smith is under investigation for alleged child abuse in Texas. "Our Sheriff's Office has received some information, they're working with our office to try and find out as much information as we can about the allegation," Fort Bend County District Attorney John Healey Jr. said. "At this particular point anything in reference to Mr. Smith is just that: an allegation." Smith signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Broncos this year. Smith has previous stints with the Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans. "Last night, we became aware for the first time of an allegation involving Antonio Smith," the Broncos said in a statement. "We are now in the process of gathering more information." Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider Aaron Wilson covers the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun
