Broncos place Danny Trevathan on IR-designated to return

Denver Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan was placed on injured reserve-designated to return.

Trevathan has a cracked bone just above his left knee against the New York Jets.

Trevathan is expected to be replaced on the roster by linebacker Shaquil Barrett being promoted from the practice squad. According to a source, nothing is official with Barrett yet.

Trevathan had an injury below his left knee in the preseason.

He's out for at least eight weeks.
