Broncos re-sign Ronnie Hillman
The Denver Broncos re-signed running back Ronnie Hillman to a one-year contract. Hillman (5-10, 195 pounds) is a fifth-year player who appeared in 48 regular-season games (14 starts) and five postseason contests (2 starts) during his first four years in the league. He was selected by Denver in the third round (67th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft from San Diego State University. Denver’s leading combined rusher during the last four seasons, Hillman has totaled 453 carries for 1,845 yards (4.1 avg.) with 12 touchdowns in addition to 67 receptions for 431 yards (6.4 avg.) with one touchdown in the regular season. In the playoffs, he owns 56 carries for 145 yards and four catches for 27 yards. Hillman started Denver’s final 10 regular-season games in 2015 and led the Broncos with a career-high 863 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 207 carries (4.2 avg.). He had four 100-yard games and tied for 10th in the NFL with 23 runs of 10 yards or longer. In two seasons at San Diego State, Hillman started 20 of 26 games and finished third in school history with 3,243 rushing yards.
