Broncos rookie tight end Jeff Heuerman tore his ACL, out for the season

Denver Broncos rookie tight end Jeff Heuerman, a third-round draft pick from Ohio State, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is out for the season. Heuerman got hurt during a special teams drill. "I feel terrible for Jeff and this is a very unfortunate situation," Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said. "Jeff was going to be a big part of our team this year, and he's still going to be a big part of our team and organization in the future. He'll get well and be with us as part of this team throughout his rehabilitation." The Broncos have tight ends Owen Daniels, Virgil Green and James Casey under contract.
