Broncos sign Marquice Cole, promote Painter, IR Harris, Wolfe

The Denver Broncos signed former New England cornerback Marquice Cole heading into an AFC championship game against the Patriots.

They also promoted practice squad offensive tackle Vinston Painter to the active roster from the practice squad.

Cornerback Chris Harris (torn anterior cruciate ligament) and defensive end Derek Wolfe (seizure symptoms) were placed on injured reserve.

Cole has 36 career tackles, four interceptions, 14 pass deflections and 51 special teams tackles.

Painter is a rookie who spent the entire season competing on the practice squad.
